Herein lies the list of foods, my gastronomic nemeses, which I must conquer in order to claim my prize: dinner at Charlie Trotter’s.
In progress: Fish/Seafood
-
Eggplant
-
Artichokes/artichoke hearts
-
Capers
-
Olives
-
Pickles
-
Fish/seafood
-
Asparagus - Semi-WIN. It was okay; I will not likely count this among my favorite vegetables, but it was palatable and I’d eat it again.
-
Beets - WIN. I had roasted beets earlier this growing season and liked them.
-
Sour cream
-
Mayonnaise
-
Alfredo sauce
-
Soups that start with ‘cream of’
-
Mustard
- Mushrooms WIN, the result of a week-long mushroom intensive.
On the maybe list:
-
Ketchup (or catsup if you wish)
-
The kind of casseroles you find at midwestern, middle-class family and Protestant church dinners, like tuna casserole and GBC
Since I don’t think Charlie Trotter serves GBC on a regular basis and I’m not convinced that GBC is actually food, I’m not in any hurry to acclimate my tastebuds to these things.

I dont blame you
I disslike mayonnaise, Soups that start with ‘cream of’, pickles, fish, and church dinner casseroles as well
