Babble babble update babble

The cigarette-burned-shirt-to-dress conversion is finished, but as luck (ahem, my own carelessness) would have it, the batteries in the camera are dead. Hey, do you remember when your camera didn’t have batteries and you instead had to worry about whether it had film? Those were the days.

So, I do not have the “after” picture, but hopefully in a matter of hours (or a day or two) I can regale you with the glorious triumphs and bitter defeats of that project. Complete with before AND after photos.

In the meantime, my favorite shop is having a moving sale! Looking at my Ravelry queue, it looks like I’m going to need a whole lot of worsted weight for the projects coming up, and I still need to score my sock yarns for the Ravelympics.

Otherwise, I’ve been trying to curb my crafting enthusiasm; I am fond of saying “It’s cheaper than therapy!” but it is not. At all. I can get therapy for free through an employer-sponsored program; all the money in the cheesepirate-fun-money-trust has been going to support my wearables habit. But it’s a lot more fun than therapy and doesn’t involve quite as much crying.

Current works in progress:

*A bag made from plastic bags
*Cheryl Niamath’s Wisp pattern – but in the funky, multi-colored Knit Picks lace weight I picked up on clearance, rather than the soft, classy-looking mohair blend.
*An obi-inspired belt in a gray pinstripe fabric leftover from a dress I never finished (I have a lot of those); I’m using a pattern from a copy of Threads I picked up last winter.

And I have a stack of fabrics washed & ready to use that are just sitting around waiting for their turn on the project board.

Food therapy is hibernating, but eggplant season is coming, and I think I may try to score some shiitakes this week to see just how mushroomy I can stand my mushrooms.

Running and yoga is all in my head these days. Boo.
